My favourites are the Sinful colors glitters, the Nicole by OPI ones are okay but just to highlight i think, the Sally Glitters are very very bright and bling.

Last day of Tafe

So today was my last day at Tafe, and it was really anti climactic.
Now, fingers are crossed while I wait for the cert.  Seeing as the system they use for marking and assessment is pretty fail I might be waiting a while.
I am quietly confident however.

Playing with gels

So was a bit bored last night, so decided to play with the new 3D nail mounds I got in.
Very intricate, and also found that some gels set 'harder' than others.

Long time no Blog

Okay, it's been hectic, what with the new house of ours going up behind us.  And all of the problems associated with such.
Then Margo headed out to Miami Bitch...  on Tuesday... lucky girl, I hope she brings me back a stack of Gels, or a hot woman, I told her either is okay.
Now, here are some pictures of my very first set of Gels, this was done at 11pm to 1.30 am by very special request, well lots of begging, some cash and a small block of chocolate.
Very similar prep involved with gels, however last night was quite rushed, so lets just hope they stay on 'for her special occasion', In my opinion, the Blue french gel, looks really good, and it was sooooo shiny
Attached are 2 pics, one with and one without flash, judge for yourselves.. (The glistening you can see, is cuticle oil, which I always recommend to people when they have nail enhancements, or dry, cracking cuticles)

Gels

So I've now started doing gel nails, if anyone is interested, I need to get some practicing in.

Nail art assessment

So today before the acrylic exam, I was told that if I handed my nail art assessment (ie, my nail art) in a plastic bag, she would give it back, and that she expected it presented properly.  So, I'm like oh shit WTF, so ran off to red dot and just started grabbing random crafty stuff.
This is the result...

Playing around

Salon day, one client for a manicure.
I played with my Konad stamper today, Casey loved it.
After that did some marbling on a nail to show the girls how easy it is, forgot to take a piccy though.

Nails For Liz

2 1/2 hours, with 2 issues with tips and bloody Jehovah's witnesses knocking at the door.
Not to mention that this set was somewhat of a challenge as Liz told me that acrylics or gel nails never stay on her nails, so I spent a little longer making sure the prep was perfect, hence the tip issues.  They turned out pretty good.
Now the waiting has started, fingers crossed.

Nail drama ohnoes

First off, thank you Nadine for your patience and understanding today, I would never ever have thought that could go wrong.
So after taking just over an hour Tish remove her nails, we were both astounded by what was underneath.  Expecting to find a semi decent nail plate to work with, the grooves, ridges and cliffs were a bonus (see attached pics).
It was whilst trying to level off some of this keratin karnage that on one finger, I went through the nail, which really made me mad, as I was being very gentle to begin with. (Photo attached, sadly)
So after a quick emergency chat with my Tafe tutor (Peta, you rock) Nadine was advised to let that damage grow out.
We then did her other nails, which turned out fantastically.
So that was my afternoon..  enjoy

Celebrations

Yay, finally cracked the elusive 2 1/2 hour barrier.
Full set DONE in 2:24, hellz yeah, so happy.
My next goal is to do them in under 2 hours.  That will only come with experience, as I do NOT want to sacrifice my need for a perfect job, just to speed up.

I've had to go back to blogger ad haven't yet found a Facebook appreciate that lets me post to my business page, sigh.

Nails in the salon

No customers today, so I transformed some already gorgeous nails (yes, I did ask to make sure she wanted acrylics) into, quite frankly, spectacular nails, I put my shoulder out patting myself on the back.
The only downside was timing, still taking too long to do them, gotta shave another 30 mins somewhere, and I don't know where.

Second time round for Jodie, her nails had grown a bit, so more to work with, yay.   Turned out pretty neat as well.

Getting my nails done

No customers today at salon so I volunteered my fingers to help the cause.

Claudene's new nails

I took the prep pics wig my digital camera since it is better quality, then the battery ran out, the finished pic is fringe the phone camera.
She was pretty happy with then, and I didn't hurt her at all, not even a little bit!!!

Catherine's new acrylics

I think I know why it takes me longer than the target time, everybody who comes in needs some prep work done prior to the acrylics, example, today Catherine also got a full Mani as well as gel topcoat and polish.
So I am feeling better, though still need more practice.

Nails for Jacinta

For some reason, these ones took me a while, maybe it's coz I missed a step here and there and had to redo, who knows, but 3 and a half hours later taaadaaaa.  She did enjoy dinner though.

Katy's nails

Thank you very much Katy for your hands today, I was sorry it took so long, nothing seemed to go right.  So a quick set of blended nails took 4 hours. :(
But we did add a few extras onto them that really blinged them out.

Margo's new acrylics part 3

Since my victim, errrr, volunteer didn't turn up today, I did a fresh set for Margo, and they turned out very very good
They looked fantastic when I finished them but after putting a UV top coat on.  WOW!!!!

Thanks to Linda and Jodie for their hands, pictures attached.
Jodie's were special, as I used full well tips and used UV gel for the first time, exciting.
Immune pink gel, then silver glitter gel,finishing with the UV topcoat.
A few bumps, but was fun to use..

My latest client

I asked this customer to present her nails, she was a little perturbed by it and proceeded to wreak havoc on my nail table.

Acrylic nails for Emma

My latest victim, Emma let me use her hands today, and here is the result, she had really really short nails so the tips look overly large on her.  She loved them however and that is the important thing.
